About This Event
Better known as Scots on the Rocks, the Moab Celtic Festival is a three-day celebration of Celtic heritage set against the red rock — surely one of the more surreal backdrops for a Highland games anywhere. The festival features pipe band and solo music competitions, Highland dance contests, and heavy athletics like the caber toss and stone put.
Clan gatherings, Celtic vendors, food, and whisky-adjacent merriment fill out the weekend at Center Street Ballpark, a short walk from downtown Moab's restaurants and shops.
Mid-October is a lovely shoulder-season weekend in Moab, and the festival pairs easily with fall hiking or the Ho Down mountain bike festival the following weekend.
