About This Event
The Arches Marathon & Half anchors Mad Moose Events' fall running weekend in Moab, staged in the spectacular desert south of town near the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. The distance menu runs from 15K up through the half marathon, full marathon, and 50K, so runners of every level can find a course through the fins and domes of Navajo sandstone.
Early October is prime running season in Moab — crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and golden light on the red rock. The event offers generous cutoffs and free camping at the start/finish area, giving it a relaxed, festival-like feel compared to the big spring road races.
Mad Moose also organizes the Canyonlands Half Marathon and Dead Horse Ultra, and this race rounds out their Moab calendar as the signature fall trail event.
