These arches are medium sized arches in the park. While not as famous as other arches, the close proximity to the trailhead and unique features of each arch are well worth the time to visit them.
Trailhead Info
Arches National Park is located roughly 5 miles north of Moab on Highway 128. The trailhead is located towards the end of the Arches National Park main road. To get here, follow the park road 16 miles to the Sand Dune Arch Parking lot. There's generally enough parking here unless the park is extra crowded.
Trail Info
From the parking lot, take a quick peek at the trail placard. This will help you orient where the two arches are in respect the parking lot. Follow the trail westward for a short distance to a Y intersection. Take the right to Sand Dune Arch. This short spur quickly enters the red rock sandstone fins. There is fun narrow spot you will walk through after entering the fins. Shortly after that, Sand Dune Arch will be on your right. Follow the trail back to the Y intersection. You can head back to your car (to the left) or hang a right and head cross country to Broken Arch. If you pay attention to the distant sandstone formations, you can see Broken Arch from far off. Following the trail will take you right to the arch. NOTE: You can also reach Broken Arch from the Arches Campground and make a loop hike out of it. This trail can be seen coming in from the left on your way out to Broken Arch. All turnoffs are signed, and navigation is easy.
